Well, a new season is upon us and because of the appalling weather last season the boat hardly moved.
However, because boats are boats maintenance has to be done whether they move or not.

The engine was serviced last month and she is now out of the water for blacking. Last time she was done was nearly 2 years ago. This is longer than I would normally leave it but again the weather last year meant it could not be done before winter. Coflex Vinyl Tar was used last time and from looking at it whilst in the water there was little rusting evident. If you have read the rest of the site you will know that the original blacking from new "fell" off after 6 months.

Although the pressure washing has removed a lot of the blacking the steel underneath is in good shape. Even the bottom which was never blacked originally has only minor rusting.

Looking at her I'm inclined to leave blacking for 2 years.

More soon.
