Friday 27th January 2006 The boat was delivered on Wednesday25th as arranged. However I foolishly left the camera containing the pictures of the launch on the boat and only got it back today. The morning of the launch was cold but bright. The lorry driver had set off from Liverpool at some ungodly hour and the boat had been lifted off the lorry by the time I arrived.
The marina rang as I was on my way and said they would not launch her until I arrived. Mark arrived not long after me and we fitted the fenders and curtains then all was ready for the launch.
She was gently lifted and began to move backwards over the water.
Afloat for the first time. She sat quite straight in the water with just a hint of list to starboard. We decided to leave her like this so as to offset the weight of the holding tank as it fills. She was a bit high at the bow so we added 120kg of lead ingots at the front just behind the water tank. The transport was arranged by Kendall's and I was pleasantly surprised by the cost. One thing that concerned me about using a builder so far away was the cost of getting the boat to my mooring and how after sales service would work. As things turned out I had no need to worry on either count.
